Evelyn Wong: Honoured to have Dr. Christopher Booth with National Cancer Center Singapore
Medical Oncologist at National Cancer Centre Singapore,
“NCCS x Dr. Christopher Booth – Common Sense Oncology.
There are many ways to measure how well a particular cancer treatment works. But how much do these outcomes reflect a patient’s actual wellbeing? How do we ensure equity in cancer care globally?
We were honoured to have Dr. Christopher Booth from Queen’s University last week sharing with National Cancer Centre Singapore his latest endeavour: the Common Sense Oncology. This grassroots initiative seeks to ensure ALL patients have access to cancer treatments that improve outcomes that matter, such as OS and quality of life, irrespective of where they live or their health system.
To realise this vision, CSO has launched three streams of work related to evidence generation, evidence interpretation, and evidence communication.
Evidence generation: to ensure that clinical trials measure and report the impact of new therapies on outcomes that matter to patients.
Evidence interpretation: educational initiatives to increase critical appraisal and critical thinking skills among oncologists.
Evidence communication: improve understanding of cancer treatment risks and benefits among patients, the public, the media, and policymakers.
Thank you to all who took out time to attend our webinar and thank you to Chris who agreed to this despite the time difference. To all who wasnt able to attend, feel free to reach out to me for the recording! ”
