“I am pleased to announce that two of my abstracts have been published for the 2024 ASCO Annual Meeting:
1. Survival outcomes in patients with stage IV gastric cancer with Krukenberg tumors: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Findings: Patients who underwent a combined approach of chemotherapy and surgical resection had significantly improved overall survival (16.2 months) compared to those receiving only chemotherapy (6.7 months) or only surgery (12.8 months).
2. Immunotherapy responses in viral hepatitis-induced hepatocellular carcinoma: A meta-analysis
Findings: Patients with hepatitis-induced HCC who received immunotherapy had an average overall survival of 18.4 months and a progression-free survival of 6 months. Significant heterogeneity in the results necessitates further investigation into the biological factors influencing these outcomes.
I hope these studies will provide valuable insights into GI cancer treatment and contribute to ongoing discussions in the oncology community. Special thanks to all my co-investigators!”
