“Great to attend the official opening of the new BreastScreen fixed site service in North Ryde along with the Minister for Health, Ryan Park, and Minister for Women, Jodie Harrison.
This service, superbly led by Meredith Kay, Director of BreastScreen for the District, and brilliantly supported by Anthony M. Schembri AM, Chief Executive Officer of Northern Sydney Local Health District will provide free biennial mammograms as part of the Breastscreen NSW population screening program. It is a busy catchment area with over 5,000 local women expected through the doors each year.
BreastScreen NSW has more than 250 clinics and mobile sites across regional, rural, and metro NSW. A mammogram is the best way to detect breast cancer early – before it can be seen or felt. It’s simple, takes 20 minutes, no doctor’s referral is needed and it could save your life.”
