Tunji Alausa: Rafael Grossi reviewed National Hospital Abuja’s cancer radiology bunkers
Tunji Alausa, State Minister for Health and Social Welfare of Nigeria, shared on LinkedIn:
“Following our meeting with the SGF, Mr. Rafael Grossi and our teams went to review National Hospital Abuja’s cancer radiology bunkers and equipment, some of which were donated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
It’s unfortunate to say that the few equipment we have available are meant to provide treatment for millions of cancer patients all over the country. Which is far from equitable. That’s why strengthening relationships with organisations like the IAEA and its member countries is imperative. We need a larger quantity of high grade radiology equipment, located in each of our geo political zones to be able to provide enough access to all of those who need it.
I’m grateful to Mr. Grossi and his team for taking the time to visit National Hospital Abuja and listen to the Prof. Mohammad Raji Mahmud CMD of National Hospital and his team’s challenges and hopes amidst their busy schedule.”
