The European Public Health Week 2024 coincided with the announcement of the Beyond Sciences Initiative (BSI) ’24 Congress’s Awards. Dr. Zeina Moukarzel, Dr. Muriel Dib and I have been privileged to receive the 1st prize.
Our awarded Hot Doc presentation went through the efforts and vision of LAMSA Lebanon for substance use prevention and control and youth engagement in tackling tobacco, alcohol, and drugs use and dependence.
Science and Society is an online conference that provides scholars worldwide an opportunity to present their research and network with a broad scientific audience. The Beyond Sciences Initiative (BSI) is a University of Toronto (UofT) founded NPO that facilitates and champions local and global initiatives for knowledge exchange and the engagement of scientists in contemporary challenges.
The BSI’s philosophy aligns with today’s EUPHA2024 theme – ‘Health through the life course: Breaking down silos’, reminding the need for collaboration between individuals, countries and disciplines to identify and address public and global health challenges.
Our presentation was part of an inspiring session featuring among others the (also award – winning) lectures of Dr. Evangelia Savvidou and Dr. Yakup GÖZDERESİ, reporting respectively about the Primary Care Podcast of the Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης | Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and the representation and promotion of the European Code Against Cancer in Turkiye.”
