“Cover Story in Cancer Cell. Yay. Here, we (BostonGene) report a new platform for immunoprofiling using a simple blood test. This solution uses a combination of advanced laboratory techniques to comprehensively analyze the immune system of patients with cancer.
Traditional methods for assessing immune health have been limited and this platform aims to change that. By studying blood samples from both healthy people and cancer patients, we
identified five distinct patterns, or “immunotypes,” of immune activity (G1-G5).
These patterns are consistent across different types of cancer. Based on these immunotypes we developed a scoring system to measure these patterns, which can help to predict how patients might respond to various cancer treatments, including immunotherapy.
Ultimately, this simple blood can help doctors in tailoring treatments to individual patients based on their immune profiles.
