Kai-Cheng Hsu: Revolutionizing Healthcare with AI: Taiwan Takes the Lead.
Kai-Cheng Hsu, the Director of the Artificial Intelligence Center, at China Medical University Hospital, recently shared on LinkedIn:
“Revolutionizing Healthcare with AI: Taiwan Takes the Lead.
Exciting news from the healthcare sector! China Medical University Hospital introduces the pioneering Chinese AI voice medical system, enabling doctors to create patient records in a mere 12 seconds!
– Mr. Su, a 28-year-old patient, underwent an ultrasonic test. Surprisingly, no computer was used. Instead, the AI voice panel behind automatically generated his medical record.
– The AI system, named “智海系統” (gHi, Generative Healthcare Intelligent System), mimics a conversation during the consultation, automating the entire reporting process. The result? Initial consultation times are slashed from 20-30 minutes to just 5-10 minutes!
– With this system, not only has the medical record input time been reduced by 75%, but it also supports multiple languages including Chinese, English, Taiwanese, and Hakka.
– This advancement is not just speeding up consultations. It’s drastically reducing the administrative burden on medical staff, allowing them to focus more on patient care. Nurses, often bogged down with paperwork, now see their record-keeping time cut from 1 hour to just 15 minutes.
However, while this tech brings significant efficiency, professionals emphasize that the ultimate diagnosis still relies on the doctor’s expertise. The goal moving forward is achieving 100% accuracy and avoiding misdiagnoses.
A remarkable step towards integrating advanced AI in healthcare!”
