American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network – We found that about half of patients surveyed have Medical Debt
Laura Esfeller, Metastatic kidney cancer survivor, shared a post American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, on X:
“Your ability to pay should not determine if you survive. Unashamed to say I struggled with Medical Debt for years after having to go on disability for almost 6 months, then losing my job during COVID. Financial toxicity is real and it’s unacceptable. Patients deserve better.”
Quoting American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network‘s post:
“We found that about half of patients surveyed have Medical Debt. What’s more, 98% of those had health care coverage at the time they accumulated debt to pay for their Cancer Care. ”
