Uri Ilan: Wonderful experience of taking an active part in the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology and Google Hackathon
Uri Ilan, Researcher PhD Student, Coordinator of the International Leukemia/Lymphoma Target Board, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Two weeks ago I had the wonderful experience of taking an active part in the Prinses Máxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie and Google Hackathon as an advisor to participating teams such as ML6 | Your partner in AI, ING, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, DSW Zorgverzekeraar, Weaviate and others on how to best implement their creative ideas and solutions into the medical world and especially to the pediatric oncology one.
This unbelievable event, organized by Anouk Muis brought several teams, that had no connection to the medical world, into a full fun day of collaborating and creating solutions directed to help kids with cancer.
During this event, I also had the opportunity, to present our MVP with Catayoun Azarm, the MVP, a tool to help physicians around the world to find and prioritize new treatments, developed by the wonderful team from Google including Christiaan Hees, Michiel Brinkman, Kamilla Kurta, Margherita Contri, Naz Bayrak, Heiko Hotz and myself.
Later, As part of the expert panel with Michiel Kooper, Heiko Hotz and Naz Bayrak where we discussed the wonderful achievements presented onstage by four selected teams.
I gained valuable insights during that day, such as how to provide teams with guidance rather than solutions, or how to oversee multiple projects and bring them together into one whole solution.
WHAT A DAY it was! And the best thing part is, it was only the beginning!
can not wait to find out where this collaboration will bring us.”
