“Thank you for the warm welcome Versiti Blood Research Institute community; I am excited for the opportunity to continue the journey of scientific discovery and training the next generation of biomedical and physician scientists. Equally, I would like to express my appreciation to Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences Go Pokes for the support you have extended since establishing my independent research laboratory at the helm of the COVID-19 pandemic. My former and current students, thank you for the great work you have performed and all your accomplishments.”

“The Versiti Blood Research Institute is excited to announce Dr. Joshua Muia has joined our Thrombosis and Hemostasis Program. Dr. Muia’s research centers on the regulation and substrate processing of ADAMTS13 as well as its interactions with von Willebrand factor (VWF), and strives to uncover the biochemical properties of related metalloproteinase ADAMTS7 and its role in coronary artery disease. He did his graduate training at Western Michigan University and post-graduate training at Washington University School of Medicine. He most recently was an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry in the School of Biomedical Sciences at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences.
