Onyinye Balogun: The NSIA-LUTH Cancer Centre Brachytherapy Summit
Onyinye Balogun, Co-Founder of CMO Mission-Driven Tech, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The NSIA-LUTH Cancer Centre Brachytherapy Summit is one of the few things that will willingly get me out of bed at 4am! I began collaborating with the center in 2019 as they launched their oncology services and in 2021, as they reinstated brachytherapy treatments after several years hiatus! Their upward trajectory since then has been astonishing and I am proud to have played a small part in it!
It was a joy to start my day with my Nigerian and Sub-Saharan Africa cancer care and radiation therapy colleagues discussing how to enhance access to brachytherapy in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). I also shared how ultrasound-based brachytherapy might provide time and cost savings as well as expansion of image-guided brachytherapy access for cervical cancer patients. Thank you to the Summit organizers, the leadership and especially Dr. Bolanle Adegboyega for the invitation and for an invigorating Summit!”
