May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month – AACR
American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) shared on their LinkedIn:
”May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) Heritage Month.
The AACR celebrates the myriad contributions of immigrants of Asian descent, natives of Hawai’i, and Pacific Islanders to advancing our mission to prevent and cure all cancers.
Today we highlight Min Chiu Li (1919-80), a Chinese-American oncologist who was the first scientist to use chemotherapy to cure a patient with a metastatic solid tumor cancer. Dr. Li received the Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award for his work in 1972.”
