Rajiv Shah: Embracing a ‘big bet’ mindset is the key to addressing challenges in your life
Rajiv Shah, President at The Rockefeller Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
“Hello, LinkedIn. There are a lot of new faces here, so I’d love to reintroduce myself.
I’m Raj Shah, and over the last 25 years, I’ve had the fortune of working on teams that have:
– Helped vaccinate nearly a billion children
– Led high-pressure responses to the 2010 Haiti earthquake and against Ebola
– Dramatically expanded COVID testing during the height of the pandemic
– Began connecting a billion people to electricity, while averting a climate catastrophe
Ultimately leading me to what I do today, serving as the president of The Rockefeller Foundation, where our mission is to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges and improve the lives of billions of people.
And if there’s anything I’ve learned along my journey, it’s this:
Embracing a ‘big bet’ mindset is the key to addressing challenges in your life, community, country, and even the world.
When we set out to solve our biggest problems, not just make incremental improvements, we open ourselves up to a life of optimism, adventure, impact, and fun.
Don’t make the mistake of aiming too low.
I love teaching what I’ve learned as well as highlighting the incredible individuals working to build a better future, and I’m excited to be sharing more here with all of you.”
