Michael Kupferman: Madappa Kundranda sat down with Arizona PBS Horizon to discuss a potential new way to screen for colorectal cancer
Michael Kupferman, Senior Vice President at Banner Health, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center physician Madappa Kundranda recently sat down with Arizona PBS Horizon to discuss a potential new way to screen for colorectal cancer – a blood test – that is currently up for FDA approval. According to a recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the blood test detected 87% of cancers that were at an early and curable stage. Dr. Kundranda explained how the blood test helps detect the cancer and the impact this approval could have on colorectal cancer screening rates, particularly for those who are not comfortable with the preparation that comes with colonoscopies. He also explained why this test could not fully replace the gold-standard colonoscopy.
Thank you, Dr. Kundranda, for taking time to speak on this important topic, and for all you do for our patients at Banner Health!
Watch this informative segment.”
