How Emily’s misdiagnosis was stage IV lung cancer – Oncogene Cancer Research
Oncogene Cancer Research shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Emily Walthall, a nature-lover, qualified lawyer and wife from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA, had always been healthy and led an active life. One day Emily woke with chest pressure, which quickly escalated to include incessant coughing fits. But, as someone who never smoked, she had no thought or fear that her symptoms could mean lung cancer.
Here we share how Emily’s misdiagnosis of double pneumonia was actually stage IV, RET-positive lung cancer at the age of 39 and why she’s hopeful because of research. ”
