Winan van Houd: How collaboration can lead to better understanding of rare cancers
Winan van Houd shared a post on LinkedIn:
“We started the PhD journey of Eva Huis in’t Veld in Royal Marsden in London, and substantiated this in The Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam, finalized it in Erasmus MC in Rotterdam and celebrated at Leiden University. Togeheter with the excellent team Michel WJM Wouters Dirk Grünhagen and Kees Verhoef.
So proud of Eva and her excellent defence of her PhD theses: Optimizing surgical treatment of rare cutaneous malignancies.
The whole project is an example of how collaboration between high volume centers can lead to better understanding and personalized treatment of rare cancers in general, and soft tissue sarcoma and rare skin cancers especially.
Looking forward to working with Dr. Huis in‘t Veld in the future when she will be a fully trained dermatologist.”
