The European Cancer Pulse country report on Ireland – National Screening Service
National Screening Service, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The European Cancer Pulse country report on Ireland launched this week at the Euro American Cancer Forum 2024 in Dublin. It shows that our screening rates for breast, cervical and bowel cancer are well above the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) average.
The European Union (EU) goal is that 90% of eligible populations will be offered screening by 2025. Our latest programme reports give more details on screening invitations, coverage and uptake rates and screening outcomes.

The 73% cervical screening coverage rate exceeds the World Health Organization target of 70% set to achieve Cervical Cancer Elimination. Ireland is on track to eliminate cervical cancer by 2040.
