“Dr. Carl June was awarded the 2024 Break through Prize in Life Sciences for the development of CART cell therapy, a revolutionary cancer treatment in which a patient’s own T cells are modified to target and kill their cancer cells. The Breakthrough Prize is the largest award in the field, recognizing the world’s top scientists working in the ‘disciplines that ask the biggest questions and find the deepest explanations.’
