Partha Basu, Head of Early Detection, Prevention, and Infections Branch at International Agency for Research on Cancer, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Another great initiative from within India to ensure national and global access to affordable HPV detection technologies. IARC is proud to partner with AIIMS New Delhi, NICPR Noida, and NIRRCH Mumbai in the DBT-BIRAC Grand Challenge initiative also supported by the Gates Foundation. The project will evaluate performance of multiple home-grown HPV detection tests and validate them. The results will be available very soon as the validation will be done using bio-banked samples supplied by IARC. IARC has also set up a technical consultation group for validation and benchmarking of HPV detection tests that incorporate less than 13 HPV genotypes (LMIC-adapted HPV tests).”
