Linda Regan: 12 year breast cancer survivor, I’ve been denied by UHC three times for follow up plastic surgery
Nancy Lin, Breast cancer specialist at Dana-Farber Cancer Centre, shared a post by Linda Regan, a breast cancer survivor on X, adding:
“In over 20 years of practice as an oncologist, I have never had a breast cancer survivor denied a medically indicated operation to restore symmetry after cancer surgery, with 2 appeals already rejected. This is outrageous.”
Quoting Linda Regan’s post:
“12 years breast cancer survivor. I’ve been denied by UnitedHealthcare (UHC) three times for follow up plastic surgery. I’ve been deformed by cancer. Trying to have some confidence in myself and not be reminded daily of the cancer I had. I don’t know how UHC is defying federal law!”
