Global Summit on War and Cancer 2023: Christos Tsagkaris’ speech on the Horizon Europe Cancer Center
The 1st Global Summit on War and Cancer took place on 14 – 16 December 2023. It was organized by the Institute of Cancer and Crisis and OncoDaily. Renowned healthcare specialists from all over the world came together to discuss cancer issues rising in war-affected areas.
We were honored to have Christos Tsagkaris, Member of the Board of the Cancer Mission of the European Commission, Brussels, as a speaker during the summit where he discussed the Horizon Europe Cancer Mission.
Key focuses of his speech were on the goals of the mission and the methods to provide quality cancer care. He highlighted the objectives, prevention techniques, diagnostic challenges and solutions offered, treatment and quality of life of patients as major interests of the Commission and introduced some of their programs and initiatives calling for global action.
