Kimryn Rathmell: One year ago today Dr. Monica Bertagnolli unveiled the National Cancer Plan
Kimryn Rathmell, Director of the National Cancer Institute, shared a post on X:
“One year ago today, then the National Cancer Institute director Dr. Monica Bertagnolli unveiled the National Cancer Plan—a framework to guide the nation’s efforts in achieving the goals of the reignited Cancer Moonshot.
Over the past year, we have seen an outpouring of support from so many across the cancer community. Thank you to everyone who has embraced the plan, shared their activities, and considered what role they can play.
The National Cancer Plan gives us clarity: we know where we’re headed and all of the components to get there. Realizing the potential of the plan and achieving its goals will require collaboration from all of us. No single group or person can do this alone.
Let’s unite our knowledge, expertise, and passion to drive further progress against cancer this year. Together, we have the power to make remarkable strides in improving the lives of everyone touched by cancer! ”
