Sujuan Ba: I had a wonderful opportunity last month to join a global effort to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer at the first Oncothon event hosted by OncoDaily

Sujuan Ba, President and CEO at National Foundation for Cancer Research, shared a post by National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) on LinkedIn, adding:

”I had a wonderful opportunity last month to join a global effort to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer at the first Oncothon event hosted by OncoDaily to support Oncoheroes Biosciences. Standing alongside esteemed peers like Dean Crowe, Co-Founder and CEO of Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, and Jeri B Wilson, Executive Director of the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, on International Childhood Cancer Day was truly meaningful.

I want to thank Dean and the Rally Foundation for their generous $200,000 match to support pediatric cancer research. NFCR is proud to join this challenge and pledge to contribute to cutting-edge research for childhood cancers, doubling its impact and bringing more hope to countless lives and families affected by pediatric cancer.

Collaboration has always been a cornerstone of NFCR’s work. I firmly believe that partnering with the Rally Foundation and Oncoheros will amplify the impact of the vital cancer research initiatives we support. Together, we are making cures possible for pediatric cancer.”

Quoting National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR)’s post:

”This is no April Fools, we are excited to announce a $200,000 match program for pediatric cancer research in collaboration with the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research for the month of April!

Did you know many cancer drugs are in use to treat pediatric cancer patients, but only five drugs are specifically developed or approved for children with certain types of cancer?

The lack of development of pediatric cancer drugs forces oncologists to use adult cancer drugs to treat their young patients. This approach can be harmful to the patients and, in some cases, have long-term side effects. More support and more research are needed to provide those diagnosed with childhood cancer with better survival outcomes and less harmful treatments.

Every dollar NFCR raises to improve treatment options for childhood cancers will have double the impact from now through the end of April, thanks to the Rally Foundation.
