Stephen V. Liu: Report Clinical Lung Cancer shows improving lung cancer survival in the Veterans Administration
Stephen V. Liu, Director of Thoracic Oncology and Developmental Therapeutics at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, posted on X:
“Report Clinical Lung Cancer shows improving lung cancer survival in the Veterans Administration. 54,922 veterans with lung cancer 2010-17: increases in early detection (stage I: 18% to 30%), improved survival across stages, similar for Black & white veterans.
For NSCLC, 3y OS rates increased from 24% to 38%. Important to see that Veterans are benefiting from advances in lung cancer care and the racial equity shown is an endorsement of the VA’s equal access model of healthcare. Important message from Dr. Drew Moghanaki and team.”
