David H. Nguyen: I’m a nominee for the 2024 Alan T. Waterman Award at the National Science Foundation

David H. Nguyen, Co- Founder and CEO of BrainScanology, shared on LinkedIn:

“I’m a nominee (election results NOT known at this time) for the 2024 Alan T. Waterman Award at the National Science Foundation (NSF)! It’s highly competitive, so I hope to at least make the honorable mentions list.

Regardless, it is an honor to be nominated because five leading scientists must support the nomination. Years ago, I left the academic research track for financial reasons. I thought that transition would be the end of my research days, but my subsequent invention of the LCPC Transform (for measuring sub-dimensions of shapes that are hidden to the naked eye and traditional methods) would later earn this nomination. For this, I am thankful. You can take the scientist out of science, but you cannot take the science out of the scientist.

Before the results come out, I’d like to at least enjoy some limelight about being nominated at all, LOL. I’d like to thank the lead nominator, Mary Helen Barcellos-Hoff at UCSF, along with William Jagust at UC Berkeley, Brian Feeley at UCSF, J. Wesson Ashford at Stanford/Palo Alto VA, and Sylvain Costes at NASA. It means a lot to young scientists that their work is recognised by established scientists.”
