Penilla Gunther: A very interesting day in Brussels about ending financial discrimination against Cancer Survivors

Penilla Gunther shared on LinkedIn:

“A very interesting day in Brussels about ending financial discrimination against Cancer Survivors! The amazing Françoise Meunier was hosting a conference on the theme of ‘The right to be forgotten’.

Two Commissioners, Stella Kyriakides and Mairead McGuinness was supporting the initiative on-site to give the right for cancer survivors to have insurances and loans like anyone else, as well as support from a range of MEPs in European Parliament. Mike Morrissey from the European Cancer Organisation, Antonella Cardone from Cancer Patients Europe, Katie Rizvi from Youth Cancer Europe, Tanja Spanic from EUROPA DONNA  The European Breast Cancer Coalition, and many more participated from different societies and organizations. My colleague from the Cancer Mission Board Christine Chomienne talked about the EBCP and the Mission and what can be done.

I had the honor to underline the importance to see this topic as Citizens Rights – Patients Rights, and that governments also have to look at their systems for social security and labor market insurance in their countries.

A warm thank you to all that take this seriously and are willing to make a change.”
