Sarah Sammons: Patients with adverse financial events were more likely to have later-stage diagnosis
Sarah Sammons, Breast Medical Oncologist at Dana-Farber’s Breast Oncology Center, shared a post on X/Twitter:
”1/3 of newly diagnosed patients with cancer had a major adverse financial event (eviction, lean, bankruptcy) before their diagnosis. Patients with adverse financial events were more likely to have later-stage diagnosis. Association of Major AFE and Later-Stage Cancer Diagnosis.”
