“Every year on February 4th, we celebrate our achievements in cancer management. This year, let’s take a moment to reflect on the unsung heroes of the field. Are they the patients enduring the pain and adverse effects of treatment? The caregivers who support them? Or the scientists working tirelessly to discover new therapies?
While all of these individuals are undoubtedly heroes, we often forget about the oncologists and cancer patients who are achieving remarkable success with limited resources. These heroes are present in every region of the world, investigating suitable lines of therapy within international guidelines despite lacking resources and eligibility criteria for clinical trials. Despite the challenges they face, they continue to stand tall and fight for the care of cancer patients.
Let’s take a moment to recognize and thank these unsung heroes for their dedication and hard work.”
