I learnt first hand how much the love shared by friends and family means to people with cancer – Vann
Hello everyone, post from the Admin here. Last September I shaved all my hair off in support of my auntie who has breast cancer. I raised a bunch of money and I am so greatful (I love everyone who donated as it can really help a bunch of people out) but truthfully that’s not the only reason I did it. My auntie means a lot to me, she taught me Ballet from about 5 ish to 18 as she owns her own dance school, so you could say she is a pretty big maternal figure to me. Her diagnosis came through as I was in the last term of my first year at uni and it killed me to know that at that moment in time I couldn’t support her in person. I learnt first hand how much the love shared by friends and family means to people with cancer. So when I came back I spoke to her and wanted to support her in the biggest way I could think of. When she needed to shave her hair, off mine came too. And it was beautiful, my mum did the sides as she is a hairdresser but I wanted to do the top myself (as you can see here). This was my way of showing how much I love her. When I saw that I could also help out an app that spreads so much love I knew I had to get involved. It’s has many functions to learn more but also the send a smile tool is my favourite as you can dedicate any task you do in a day to someone you know, or don’t with cancer. So keep loving everyone, it’s free but means so much! I hope you all have a lovely day, Admin
