From Education and Advocacy to Screening and Palliative Care – UICC
Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Since 1968, the Cancer Association of Namibia (WO30) (CAN) has played a critical role in shaping the country’s cancer response — from education and advocacy to screening and palliative care:
- Recently launched African Patient Organisations Connect (APOC) in Namibia and Zambia
- Supports the Ministry of Health in rolling out the cervical cancer elimination strategy and establishes the Namibia Breast Clinic Programme
- Runs interim homes, a national screening programme, a palliative care initiative, and provides financial assistance
- Funds and manages the National Cancer Registry
We’re proud to spotlight UICC members like CAN for their leadership in strengthening cancer systems and supporting people living with cancer across Namibia.”
