“Join us in congratulating Incoming Editor-in-Chief Michael Lotze of the University of Pittsburgh on his recently announced appointment by the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC). With over 30 years in the field, Dr. Lotze brings enthusiasm and passion for advancing the journal and the field of cancer immunotherapy as a whole. We look forward to working with him and JITC Interim EIC James Gulley as leadership is transferred over the next several months.

We are also thrilled to share that Sjoerd van der Burg of Oncode Institute and Leiden University has been promoted to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Dr. van der Burg most recently served as JITC’s Interim Deputy Editor-in-Chief in 2023. His leadership in an interim capacity has been instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition with a continued focus on advancing top research to support the future development of the field.
