Bishal Gyawali, Associate Professor and Medical Oncologist at Queen’s University, shared a post on X/Twitter:

“Both high-quality journals. Manuscript submitted to one journal- desk rejected by the editor without even sending out to peer review. Submitted as is to the second journal, again of the same quality as the first. Goes out to 3 peer reviewers. All 3 say there is literally nothing they’d suggest changing. Accept as is.

I am not complaining, but this shows how strange the academic world is.”
