Michelle Kirschner: I was able to join in NCI Office of Cancer Survivorship program
Michelle Kirschner, Medical Advisory Board Chairman at OneVillage, recently shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I was able to join in this NCI Office of Cancer Survivorship program today. I submitted a question regarding the capacity of smaller cancer centers to create social support resources and the need for national resources.
Dr. Bouchard presented three areas of social support:
1. Logistical support- tangible help and assistance.
2. Emotional support – listening, empathizing, expressing caring.
3. Informational support – advice, information and suggestions.
I’m so excited to be part of OneVillage which has created a platform that addresses all three of these social support areas through concierge services, medical/financial navigation, and mental health coaching resources. It’s important to move beyond research to clinical solutions.”
