Rohit Sharma: I’m proud to announce that we’ve successfully performed the first PIPAC procedure in Wisconsin
Rohit Sharma, Vice Chairman at Marshfield Clinic Research Institute Oversight Board, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I’m incredibly proud to announce that we’ve successfully performed the first Pressurized Intraperitoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy (PIPAC) procedure in Wisconsin.
This innovative treatment offers new hope for patients with peritoneal surface malignancies, allowing for targeted chemotherapy delivery within the abdominal cavity. This milestone significantly enhances our Peritoneal Surface Malignancy program, providing another crucial tool in our comprehensive approach to these complex cancers.
This achievement was a true team effort! Huge thanks to the incredible collaboration of our dedicated colleagues across surgical services, anesthesia, pharmacy, oncology, radiology, biomedical support, and our industry partners at Thermasolutions. Your expertise and commitment were essential in making this a reality for our patients.
This first PIPAC procedure underscores Marshfield Clinic‘s dedication to bringing cutting-edge treatments and advanced cancer care to our community. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our patients.”
