Katie Coleman: What is the cause of kidney cancer?
Katie Coleman, President of Chromophobe and Oncocytic Tumor Alliance and Product and Engineering Lead at Rare Cancer Research Foundation, shared a post on X by Hans Hammers, Medical Oncologist at UT Southwestern Medical Center, adding:
“One of the most commented posts in kidney cancer communities today is what is the cause of kidney cancer.
Nearly half of the suggestions are from people who are certain the vaccine caused it.
These alternative media narratives are out of control.
There was a major increase in this after the airing of a specific podcast episode. The same podcast later had a ‘kidney expert’ on claiming vaccines are the cause of the rise in kidney cancer.
I worry about the misinformation at scale that’s happening targeting cancer these days.”
Quoting Hans Hammers’ post:
“Anyone else having to talk to patients almost daily now about ivermectin or other anthelmintic drugs for cancer therapy? I have asked CHATGPT this:
‘Who is behind the ivermectin cancer treatment recommendations, marketing and social media campaigns?’ ”
