Sanchia Aranda: Stepping down from her role as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the City Cancer Challenge Foundation

Sanchia Aranda, Board Chair at

“As I step down from my role as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the City Cancer Challenge Foundation, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. Being involved in the Foundation’s growth since its inception in 2017 has been an absolute honor. Our initial mission was clear: to support cities in low-middle-income countries in enhancing access to equitable and quality cancer care. C/Can’s impact, catalyzing change at the city level and creating a nationwide ripple effect, fills me with pride. The connections forged within the cancer care community have blossomed into a vibrant network of 14 cities.

Looking ahead, the Foundation is poised for even more growth, driven by an ambitious strategic vision to extend engagement in operational cities for sustained project implementation and lasting change. Though my role as Chair concludes, my commitment to the Foundation’s success remains steadfast. I eagerly anticipate the remarkable accomplishments that lie ahead in the next phase of development.

I extend a warm welcome to the new Chair of the Board of Directors, Jörg Rupp. Your leadership is integral to the continued success of the Foundation, and I am confident that under your guidance, C/Can will achieve new heights. Congratulations on your appointment, and I wish you every success in steering the Foundation toward its goals.

I also want to extend my sincere congratulations to Isabel Mestres for her outstanding leadership as C/Can CEO and commend her team for their exceptional work. Their dedication has been instrumental in driving positive change in the field of cancer care. Best wishes for continued success in the future.”
