Ines PD Dr. med. Brecht: Join me in advocating for better care and attention for rare pediatric tumors
Ines PD Dr. med. Brecht, Pediatric Oncologist at the University Children’s Hospital Tuebingen, reshared a post by MELCAYA on LinkedIn, adding:
“As we observe World Health Day 2025, themed “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,” I want to highlight the importance of rare pediatric tumors, which are the focus of my work.
These rare childhood cancers account for approximately 10% of all pediatric cancers and often face significant challenges in research, diagnosis, and treatment. Pediatric melanoma are among those and therefore we are proud to be part of the EU MELCAYA project.
Despite their rarity, these diseases profoundly impact families and communities worldwide. Advancing research and raising awareness about rare pediatric cancers is essential to ensure equitable access to life-saving treatments and to improve outcomes for affected children.
Let’s continue working together to build a healthier, more equitable future for everyone.
Join me in advocating for better care and attention for rare pediatric tumors this World Health Day!”
Quoting MELCAYA‘s post:
“Today we celebrate the power of health – a fundamental human right that connects us all!
MELCAYA is proud to be part of a Global Movement that puts people’s well-being first. Let’s continue working together to build a healthier, more equitable future for everyone, especially for the most vulnerable among us!”
