Isabel Mestres: The second part of my Indian adventure deeply moved me, both emotionally and professionally
Isabel Mestres, CEO of the City Cancer Challenge (C/Can), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Sometimes, one journey changes everything. The second part of my Indian adventure deeply moved me, both emotionally and professionally. I visited a city where, for over five years, a dedicated team of more than 30 people has tirelessly championed City Cancer Challenge (C/Can). Their unwavering commitment, especially in overcoming the doubt and skepticism that naturally arise during the early stages of our engagement, is inspiring. We’re on the edge of something exciting—just waiting for that final government signature, and Kochi could officially join us at C/Can!
Let’s keep our fingers crossed, because we’re about to embark on an incredible adventure together!
Kochi, a city in Kerala State, stands at the forefront of the cancer fight, as it faces one of the country’s highest cancer incidences. With a steadily growing economy and forward-thinking spirit, Kochi is setting the bar for other Indian cities. This unique context will gives us the opportunity to approach this city with fresh eyes, to innovate and build new partnerships that create ripples of change across the C/Can network of cities and beyond.
During this trip, I met some truly extraordinary people whose unwavering dedication deeply touched and inspired me. Their commitment challenges me and pushes me to think bigger, and seek greater impact. Meeting these remarkable individuals is truly the highlight of my travels!
A heartfelt thank you to the group of local champions represented by the Butterfly Cancer Care Foundation and to my trip mates, Chika Kitajima and Mathieu Morand, for making this journey unforgettable. (Last pic) Let’s make this partnership one to remember!
