Ricki Fairley: Bringing breast cancer screening to young Black Women
Ricki Fairley, Chief Executive Officer at Touch, made the following post on LinkedIn:
“Touch, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance is teaming up with Bexa Equity Alliance to bring breast cancer screening to young Black Women, directly addressing that horrific statistic that Black Women under age 35 get breast cancer at twice the rate of white women and die at 3 times the rate, well before they are able to get a first mammogram at age 40. TOUCHBBCA’s For the Love of My Gurls campaign has now reached over 300,000 Black women ages 18-35. Our strategic alliance with Bexa is in full alignment with our campaign mission to educate and empower young Black women, and will allow us to bring this much needed breast health knowledge and screening to where young Black Women live, work, play, pray and slay.”
