Rami Elghandour: There are some great points about expressing your ambition

Rami Elghandour, Chairman and CEO of Arcellx, shared on LinkedIn:

“One of the most important drivers of my career was knowing what I want and putting myself out there in communicating it. That meant that even with no business experience saying I’d like to see if I could be a CEO one day. And that was the essence of leaving engineering and applying to The Wharton School. I did recognize I may not ultimately be good at it or like it not knowing enough at the time. But I knew I enjoyed leadership whether it was captain of a sports team or student government so why not reach for the stars.

That’s important because most people love helping others and if you communicate your ambition not only will they see you differently but may help you along the way.

This is especially important for women where there remains a gender gap particularly at leadership levels. And where there is more of a stigma for being ambitious that we need to address.

I don’t believe Ashley was penalized for expressing what everyone already knew so click bait headlines like this do more harm than good. But there are some great points about expressing your ambition and your why particularly from female leaders that makes it a worthwhile share for women and men alike.”
