Moawia Mohammed Ali Elhassan: Cancer Survival Affected by Diabetes and CVD
Moawia Mohammed Ali Elhassan, Associate Professor at University of Gezira, shared a post by IARC on LinkedIn:
“Cancer Survival Affected by Diabetes and CVD.
A recent publication in the BMJ Medicine from the IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization and collaborating institutions provides further evidence indicating that adult cancer patients with a pre-existing history of type 2 diabetes mellitus or cardiovascular disease or both are more likely to experience higher mortality rates.
This reinforces the direct role of cardiometabolic health in cancer prognosis.”
Quoting International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization (IARC)’s post:
“Patients with cancer and history of diabetes or cardiovascular disease at higher risk of all cause and cancer specific mortality.”
