Fabio Ynoe de Moraes: Proud to mentor such a driven, curious, and critically-minded researcher
Fabio Ynoe de Moraes, Associate Professor and clinical investigator in radiation oncology and global oncology at Queen’s University, reshared a post by Fernanda Malucelli Favorito, Medical student at Santa Casa de São Paulo’s School of Medicine, on LinkedIn:
“Thrilled to see this important work being presented at ELCC25. This project highlights how thoughtful, equity-driven research can emerge from a well-defined clinical question and rigorous analysis—even at the early stages of a research career.
Investigating the impact of socioeconomic disparities on NSCLC diagnosis and outcomes in Brazil is not only timely, but crucial for informing policy and improving care delivery in underrepresented regions.
Proud to mentor such a driven, curious, and critically-minded researcher. This is exactly the kind of work that bridges data and advocacy—congratulations on this well-deserved recognition and the ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology Merit Travel Grant!”
Quoting Fernanda Malucelli Favorito‘s post:
“I’m excited to share I will be in attendance at this year’s European Lung Cancer Congress in Paris!
I’ll be presenting two posters on the impacts of socioeconomic status on NSCLC diagnosis and outcomes in Brazil, a project I’ve learned loads from conducting.
A special thank you to my incredible mentor and senior author Dr. Fabio Ynoe de Moraes for the unwavering trust and support in my academic and professional development, and to our lovely co-author Brooke E. Wilson, without whom this project would not have been possible.
I’m also thrilled to share I was one of this year’s recipients of ESMO’s Merit Travel Grant, which made my attendance possible. I’m deeply honored by this award and proud to be representing my fellow Brazilian and South American young/aspiring oncologists as a recipient this year.
Looking forward to gaining new knowledge, forging connections, and bringing inspiration back home. Let the show begin!”
