Pashtoon Kasi: Different lenses of looking at the same biology
Pashtoon Kasi, Medical Director of GI Medical Oncology at City of Hope, replied to a comment made by Marwan G. Fakih, Associate Director for Clinical Sciences at City of Hope, on X:
Marwan G. Fakih’s Comment:
“If the TMB is low in the setting of MSS on NGS, I would tend to be believe the accuracy of the NGS.
It is best here to consult further with your physicians and reconfirm the IHC testing and do germ line testing too.”
Pashtoon Kasi’s reply:
“Agreed.
These are different lenses of looking at the same biology. We have seen false negative MSI by PCR/NGS.
As Dr. Marwan G. Fakih mentioned, knowing the TMB would be helpful. Because if TMB-High, likely the MSI is false negative.
And repeat IHC and germline.”
