Jaime Grund: Behind personalized medicine, there is a PERSON doing the hard work for our patients
Jaime Grund, Director of Precision Medicine and Breast Centers at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Behind personalized medicine, there is a PERSON doing the hard work for our patients. Today Jordan Brady and Josiah Allen presented their work at the American College of Medical Genetics conference in Los Angeles.
Jordan went the extra mile to find an answer for her patient. It would have been easy for her to shrug her shoulders and move on with her busy clinic day. But her gut told her to dig deeper and, in the end, it had major implications not only for the patient, but cancer genetics as a whole. And the ACMG agreed.
Josiah (and Jordan) recognized an important gap in precision medicine care. Working side-by-side, these two uncovered a connection between the genetic conditions we diagnose and the medications those unique patients are prescribed. As a result, they are bridging that gap for the patients of St. Elizabeth Healthcare and making impacts on the field as a whole. (Stay tuned for their upcoming publication!)
When we say “personalized care,” this is what it looks like at St. Elizabeth Healthcare.”
“So proud of our Center for Precision Medicine and Genomic health. A crown jewel here at The Yung Family Cancer Center. Innovation done right. Well done, Kathy Jennings and Jaime Grund, for your vision and execution. This place will be your legacy.
Jordan Brady and Josiah Allen thank you for always doing more, and for the commitment you have to improving care not just at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, but everywhere.”
