“Innovation in Action at the CancerX Accelerator Moffitt Innovation Summit!
What an inspiring and productive day at our 2nd Annual CancerX Accelerator Moffitt Innovation Summit, the official in-person kickoff event of the 2025 CancerX Accelerator program. Yesterday brought together our 14 selected oncology startups and Champion Organizations for a deep dive into the future of scalable digital oncology by working together across healthcare sectors (from health systems to pharma to payers to VCs to startups).
The day was packed with highlights, including:
- An Executive breakfast with our Accelerator Champion organizations including CancerX Steering Committee members Ashita Batavia and Xavier Avat, moderated by CancerX Lead, Kamal Jethwani.
- A powerful patient keynote by Dr. Vondalyn Wright, emphasizing the importance of considering potential barriers to digital solution adoption often faced.
- Insightful panels featuring Moffitt leaders like John L. Cleveland, Kelley Gonzalvo, Dana Rollison, Gilmer Valdes, Alexander Anderson, Roderick Harris, Roger Li, Matt Bednar, Randa Perkins, and Xuefeng Wang discussing Moffitt’s innovation strategy, navigating the health system as a startup, and the transformative power of big data, AI, and integrated mathematical modeling.
- Dynamic Startup Showcases featuring cutting-edge solutions from companies like Encapsulate, We Are Here, Dyania Health, First Ascent Biomedical, and many more, expertly hosted by Grace Cordovano.
- An insightful Alumni Fireside Chat with Ognjen (Oggie) Nikolic and Naresh Ramarajan sharing perspectives on how to make the most of the CancerX Accelerator program based on their experiences this past year.
- And crucial afternoon working sessions that fostered direct collaboration between startups and multiple Champion Organizations—learning from one another in the same room to explore pilot project and strategic partnership opportunities.
