Salvatore Provenzano: The Network of Expertise on AYAs with cancer

“Under the umbrella of JANE-2- EU Joint Action on Networks of Expertise on Cancer, co-funded by the European Commission and coordinated by IRCCS National Cancer Institute Foundation of Milan, the patient-centred Network of Expertise on Adolescents and Young Adults with cancer was born to become the network where collaboration between pediatric and adult cancer services will be strengthened to face the gap of AYA patient survival across EU Member States and support the implementation of national AYA dedicated programmes and reinforce the existing ones.
Several relevant stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patients advocacy groups and scientific societies are joining their forces to improve specific research and education, provide clinical recommendations and healthcare organizational model, promote awareness and empower the community, thus driving policy changes in every EU member state in the next future. I’m honored to lead the network with Andrea Ferrari and Trama Annalisa and to cooperate with great experts.”
