Patrick Hwu: How can we identify tumour-reactive T-cells circulating in the blood?
Patrick Hwu, President and CEO of the Moffitt Cancer Center, shared on X/Twitter:
“Science Saturday. How can we identify tumour-reactive T-cells circulating in the blood? Using single-cell transcriptomic profiling of tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) and blood lymphocytes, researchers at the National Cancer Institute’s Surgery branch identified a phenotypic signature of circulating T-cells capable of recognizing mutated antigens.
Interestingly, these circulating T-cells appear to be more functional than those found in the tumour. This approach may provide an important alternative source of T-cells for immunotherapy for cancer. Here’s a link to the full article.”
