I recently wrote an op-ed with Bobby Green about the importance of better care coordination and patient navigation to achieve the goals of Cancer Moonshot for Fortune
In a post by
Cancer is an intensely personal disease that affects people differently depending on their circumstances, needs and where they are on their cancer journey. I know this first hand. Mine and Bobby’s combined years of caring for cancer patients and also undergoing treatment have informed our belief that the quality of an individual’s cancer care experience cannot be a secondary or less important focus than the drugs and therapies they are prescribed.
If we overlook the daily challenges that cancer patients face in accessing and managing their care, and the barriers care teams face in treating patients who need more support, we will fail to benefit fully from the breakthroughs in medicine, technology and therapeutics the Cancer Moonshot will no doubt accelerate. At Thyme Care we’re dedicated to bettering the experience of cancer patients through a personalized Care Team and greater care coordination.”
