“Today is exactly one month since President Biden left office, and a little over a month since I last walked up this driveway. But I have exciting news to share: I’m ‘launching’ my very own health care and aging policy consulting firm: Day One Strategies! The mission: to help organizations navigate the complexities of health care policy to craft and implement policy that makes change, improves access to affordable, high-quality care for all Americans, and ensures everyone can live and age with dignity.

Having started on Day One of the Biden Administration, I know what it takes to make change: it starts with good policy on Day One. The 1,461 days that I served in the Biden-Harris Administration (i.e., all four years!) was an honor and a privilege. I’m just a kid from western New York, and never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be the Special Assistant to the President for Health Care.

Finally, I just want to say that while I am so proud of all the things that I helped to accomplish over the last four years (read about it in the report below), but there is NO WAY these accomplishments could’ve happened without the help and dedication of career agency folks.
