“The Impact of a Single Kind Act and Its Lasting Change
One December day many years ago, my good friend, Mr. John Tarantino, CEO of Iylon Precision Oncology, visited the Franciscan chapel in downtown Providence. After a mass for the Immaculate Conception, he noticed a flyer for a Christmas dinner and toys for only $10. The price was so low that it caught his attention. Curious, John went up to the Franciscan father in charge of the chapel.
The father explained how working with the local food bank and receiving donations from companies like Hasbro made it possible to offer support. He pointed out that a small donation of $10 can make a big difference. Moved by this, John donated $10,000 to help a thousand families in need. John was deeply moved when he received a thank you note signed by a thousand families, showing the strong impact of his contribution.
A few days later, the father gave John a ring to thank him for his kindness. At first, John was unsure about taking it, but the father insisted. Later, John found out that the father had given him his own ring. John returned to the father and said he didn’t want to accept it, but the father replied that the ring should go to someone who cares for others. He added that when the time is right, John can give it to someone who deserves it.
For John, this journey is more than just giving; it’s about building a legacy of kindness that benefits everyone. This experience has taught him the real meaning of giving—not just with money, but with love. It has strengthened his commitment to make a difference wherever he can. This important moment remains a key part of John’s life, reminding him of the strength of community and the importance of giving back.
I encourage everyone to go above and beyond to support others in any way possible. Happy Giving!”
